Opening Remarks

by Andrée-Lise Méthot, Founder and Managing Partner, Cycle Capital

ndrée-Lise is the Founder and Managing Partner of Cycle Capital, an impact investor and Canada’s largest private cleantech venture capital platform with AUM of $0.5B. In addition to serving on some portfolio companies’ boards of directors, she sits on the board of SDTC and Société Québécoise des infrastructures, she’s the Founder and Chairperson of the Ecofuel Accelerator and co-Founder of the Ecofuel Fund. She is also a member of the Paris Green Fund’s strategic committee, member of the Cleantech Group’s North American Advisory Committee and member of the Bloomberg New Energy Finance’s Pioneers’ selection committee. Officer of the Ordre national du Québec, she received the “Grand prix d’excellence de l’Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec et ingénieur de l’année” from the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, was named as one of Canada’s Clean16 and amongst the most influential women in sustainable development and in the cleantech industry by Corporate Knights.

Lynn Côté

Export Development Canada

Lynn Côté joined Export Development Canada (EDC) over 20 years ago. In her career at EDC, she has worked on a number of teams, and has held various roles. Prior to her current role, she was responsible for the development of strategy, tactics and industry knowledge development for the forestry, food, apparel and plastics and packaging sectors. Since 2013, she has been a member of the Cleantech Team. Much of her work has been focused on understanding the Canadian cleantech sector with a specialization in renewable energy, waste to energy, water/wastewater, and cleantech for oil & gas and mining sectors.

Claude Vachet, Managing Partner

Cycle Capital

Claude has 30 years of operational, Venture Capital, Secondary Transaction and fund management experience of venture capital portfolios investing in high tech companies. Having managed numerous investments and exits during his career, Claude has built a solid track record. He has, among others, been part of successful teams at both Kirchner and Multiple Capital. He has also worked at Innovatech Montreal as Vice-President Information Technology and Communication. In this capacity, he was responsible for 44 high-tech start-up companies and 5 Venture Capital Funds. From April 2004 to March 2005, he participated in the sale of Innovatech Montreal’s portfolio, the second largest transaction in a Venture Capital portfolio in Canada with its 108 companies and 15 funds.

GaN Systems

Jim Witham is CEO of GaN Systems, the global leader in GaN power semiconductors. Mr. Witham joined GaN Systems from Neoconix, a manufacturer of high density, miniature connectors. Prior to Neoconix, Mr. Witham was CEO of Fultec Semiconductor. Mr. Witham holds an MBA from Harvard and both M.S. and B.S. with distinction in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford.

Kasper has been with BMW i Ventures since 2016 and serves as a Partner. Kasper has been named a Global Corporate Venturing Rising Star for back-to-back years in 2018 and 2019. Previously he was part of 7Innovate, the venture capital arm of ProsiebenSat1 Media SE, focused on early stage investments in Silicon Valley, Israel, and Asia. Kasper has also held roles as a Manager of Business Development & Partnering at Deutsche Telekom, a Management Consultant at Detecon (Deutsche Telekom Group), and Head of Marketing at the startups Sabienzia Technologies and aka-aki Networks.

France Lampron, Director, transportation Electrification

Hydro Quebec

A graduate of Université de Sherbrooke, Université de Montréal and McGill, France Lampron has been with Hydro-Québec for 18 years. Since 2008, she has focused on the transportation electrification sector. In her current role, Ms. Lampron is in charge of the company’s individual and collective transportation electrification activities. In particular, she ensured the management of the Electric Circuit: Canada’s first network of public charging stations and the largest network of its kind in Québec. Ms. Lampron is on the Board of Directors of Propulsion Québec.
